The camps are well established forms of outdoor education. Concept of camps in Sikhism is not new, visit to "Dastar Asthan" at Paonta Sahib tells us that the camps to promote the personality of a Sikh use to be held by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Even modern scientific evidence points out that camps effect positive psychological changes in attendees. Sikh parents within the western hemisphere are concerned that the strong pull of assimilation is beginning to wash away the Sikh identity from their children; some Sikh children have been isolated from their community as they do not know any other Sikh families other than their relatives. Summer camps are a chance for passing on our religious values and traditions to our young Sikhs. With this in mind the Guru Granth Sahib Web Academy has decided to hold one week summer camp for young Sikhs in Toronto, Canada.
